GRETA’s final event in Bologna opens GRETA to the public!
How can European citizens participate in the energy transition? What are the drivers and barriers for their engagement? How can active participation be supported?
The Project GRETA Green Energy Transition Actions aims to foster energy citizenship emergence by enhancing awareness and removing policy barriers within the European Union. By 2050, most EU households could potentially be engaged in sustainable energy actions, such as saving energy at the local level, or producing and storing green electricity. These actions fall under the definition of energy citizenship, i.e. active public participation in energy systems.
For the past three years GRETA has investigated which are the main factors influencing the emergence and growth of energy citizenship and its relations with different geographical levels, under which conditions energy citizenship manifests itself to achieve the objectives of European decarbonisation policies.
We welcome citizens, communities and other stakeholders to join us in a live open seminar in a prestigious location in the city center to hear about GRETA’s results and innovations!
